Hillary Black has more than 25 years of experience in creative industries. Her background includes theater arts and performance, as well as film and television development and production work for companies including Paramount Pictures, ABC and CBS. Black earned her BA in Theatre Arts from UCLA and was an adjunct professor of Improvisation and Theatre Games at USC. Prior to becoming editor of Cottages & Bungalows magazine, now in its fourth year, Black served as Photo/Style Editor and Executive Editor of long-time sister publications Romantic Homes and Victorian Homes. Black is also a co-contributor to Vintage Vavoom: Romantic Decorating with One-of-a-Kind Ideas and The Vintage Table, both books published by Clarkson Potter. A longtime board member of the Canterbury Foundation at UCLA, more recently she has shared her expertise with the International Bird Rescue and Research Center, the Pt. Fermin Lighthouse Society and READ LA. As a singer/songwriter and part of the acoustic duo, StuccoRainbow, she performs for non-profit organizations including the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, the American Cetacean Society, the ACS Relay for Life, and others. StuccoRainbow’s holiday CD, Seasonsong, is offered as a fundraiser for Project Night Night, a national outreach to help children in homeless shelters.
